Who needs a kitchen doorway anyway?

Part of our grand master plan involved opening the kitchen doorway as much as we could. We were met with obstacles from the very start- from the engineer saying we could only take it so far, to the contractor who is careful with his promises. We have been pleasantly surprised at how much this doorway is being opened!

Here is the kitchen doorway - on it's way to being widened.

And here it is - opened on from both sides!

Kitchen doorway framing going in.

Yeah! kitchen open to living area. Whoohoo!

Kitchen sink piping exposed, ready to extended moved 12 inches to the right

Sometimes, electrical just likes to hang out.

Wall bags have become a wall pyramid.

Metal column was the boundary of the wall that came down.

Framing going in where the wall came down to create some sense of separation between foyer and living room.

Sub sub floor showing

Hole in the ceiling for lighting, done!

Electrical outlets in bedroom going in!

Bed-side tables outlets in! yeah!
And bottom of molding was cut out to be replaced as well.

Somebody's happy!

It looks terrific! I can't believe how much more open the kitchen is now! It looks like the demolition work is almost done and the putting-everything-back (the new way) is beginning! YAYAYAY!
